Meeting BIG brother and Poppie

Nicholas was so sweet at the hospital
when he came to meet Natalie.
(aka Beeka) He wasn't so sure why Mama was in the bed looking a little

sick, but he quickly figured things out and wanted to check out the baby. We looked at her nose, then his, her ears, then his and then her hands, then his hands. He smiled and then went exploring. I am so glad that my parents were here. Poppie had Nicholas ALL day the day Natalie was born. My mom was in the room with Matt and I at the hospital.....and then was able to see Natalie being born. We are so blessed with such wonderful parents and PERFECT children....does it get any better than this?

November 12th

Proud Daddy!
I LOVE this picture. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive Mom. She was in the room (holding my left leg) when Natalie was born.

Halloween was a bust!

Not only did Nicholas totally refuse to go near his Elmo costume he wouldn't even hold the Elmo pumpkin basket and go to a few neighbors to trick or treat. He told my dad that Elmo was scary.....hmmm. I also didn't take ANY pictures of us hanging out in the driveway handing out candy...nothing. So I don't have anything to show for this year, except for the pumpkin carving. Hopefully next year we can be a little more festive.

Baby news....
I had my check-up yesterday and everything is going well. And for the 2nd weeks she is head down! Apparently her little head is right there, my Midwife she could feel it. I am two centimeters dilated and am set to be induced on the 12th, unless she decides to come early. I am still feeling about the same, although last week I was given some med to help me sleep and it is working, at least a for a few hours. My sugar had started to come down in the AM. I started eating protein ONLY right before bed, who knew! Certainly not the dietitian who told me how to eat! Next week I am going to have a non stress test and an ultrasound to determine her weight and make the final decision about a c-section. Still no name......

Happy Halloween

Pumpin Carving

Nicholas calls them pumpins and he can spot one from a mile away. We had fun getting messy and creating our jack-o-lanterns. Nicholas wasn't too interested in actually touch the seeds and stringy stuff, but he liked to use his spoon to scrape it out. Matt made Percy and Topham Hat, not too bad. Happy Halloween to you!

BIG Baby Beeka News

***************************************************************
It has been a while since I wrote about the baby so here is an update.....Almost 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I really haven't gained much weight, so that isn't a problem. So I went for my GD counseling and I learned how to check my blood sugar, every 4 hours every day, and what to eat when. I feel like all I do is eat, check my blood sugar and eat more. I have to eat 3 meals and I am supposed to eat 3 snacks. My am blood sugar was still a little high for my first reading of the day so the Dr suggested that I skip my last snack to see if that brings it down....as an alternative to insulin shots. The numbers have come down, still a little high, but they aren't ready to give me insulin at least not yet.
I have been measuring a few weeks ahead, imagine that! Well I had a sonogram Wed the 17th and found out that Beeka is sitting up, yes she is breech. Little turkey. She has about 2 weeks to flip over and stay that way or they are going to schedule a c-section. But even more interesting to me is that she is currently estimated to weigh about 7.5 lbs, at 36 weeks! I know that Nicholas was BIG, but I also gained over 55 lbs with him AND I ate enough food for 4 people each day. With this little girl I have just hit 20 lbs and I have really been watching the food intake. I am thinking that even IF she flips I am still going have a c-section. And while the Dr is in there he will be instructed to (double) tie, knot, fuse (whatever needs to be done) to prevent any more babies from coming out of my body!
I am very anxious about a c-section, but I really don't think I can deliver another 10 pounder, since she is insisting on being breech.
With all of those issues, my blood pressure is good, her heartbeat is strong and we are both healthy. I am still nauseous every day and am taking meds for it. I am very, very uncomfortable. I have A LOT of pressure on my pelvic floor. My legs have bulging veins that are really gross. They may (or may not) go away after I deliver. I really can't sleep at night, so I am totally exhausted (and pretty crabby) most days. This pregnancy has been so difficult from the beginning. I keep waiting for that 'I am feeling great and pregnant" feeling, but I don't think that it is coming.
I know that as soon as I see her little face and hold her in my arms everything that I have gone through will seem worth it and I won't mind, I will just be glad that it is over! I just can't wait to get there! Here a a 4D picture that the tech took on Wednesday. It is like a little window into my belly. You can see her eyes and nose. I think she looks like Nicholas. And just in case you are wondering, no we don't have a name yet!

Hair cutting isn't my speciality!

That being said I think I did a pretty good job. Nicholas went to an actual salon ONCE. He screamed bloody murder and she hardly got anything cut. So I figure that I can do it. A little trim here and snip there. I think (and Matt agrees, what at least he says he does) that it looks good. Notice the big red spot on his cheek. No I didn't cut him, he got bit by something and it is look much better now. The lines would look a little better if he would let me use the "Peanut" razor I bought for him, but again the bloody murder screaming. So he looks great to me!

Bike-Tober Fest

Nicholas and Dina on their bikes at Yia-Yia's house next door.
Auntie notice that they are practicing good safety habits with their helmet on!

They both had trouble actually peddling the bikes so they just sort of used their legs to push themselves around. It was really cute. Nicholas' legs need to be about 2 or 3 inches longer for his feet to reach the peddles.
