Life is getting better with each day. God has blessed me with such a wonderful (and patient) husband, two kids that keep me on my toes, and amazing family and friends. Do I sound like a Lifetime movie?

Pumpin Carving
Nicholas calls them pumpins and he can spot one from a mile away. We had fun getting messy and creating our jack-o-lanterns. Nicholas wasn't too interested in actually touch the seeds and stringy stuff, but he liked to use his spoon to scrape it out. Matt made Percy and Topham Hat, not too bad. Happy Halloween to you!

BIG Baby Beeka News

***************************************************************
It has been a while since I wrote about the baby so here is an update.....Almost 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I really haven't gained much weight, so that isn't a problem. So I went for my GD counseling and I learned how to check my blood sugar, every 4 hours every day, and what to eat when. I feel like all I do is eat, check my blood sugar and eat more. I have to eat 3 meals and I am supposed to eat 3 snacks. My am blood sugar was still a little high for my first reading of the day so the Dr suggested that I skip my last snack to see if that brings it down....as an alternative to insulin shots. The numbers have come down, still a little high, but they aren't ready to give me insulin at least not yet.
I have been measuring a few weeks ahead, imagine that! Well I had a sonogram Wed the 17th and found out that Beeka is sitting up, yes she is breech. Little turkey. She has about 2 weeks to flip over and stay that way or they are going to schedule a c-section. But even more interesting to me is that she is currently estimated to weigh about 7.5 lbs, at 36 weeks! I know that Nicholas was BIG, but I also gained over 55 lbs with him AND I ate enough food for 4 people each day. With this little girl I have just hit 20 lbs and I have really been watching the food intake. I am thinking that even IF she flips I am still going have a c-section. And while the Dr is in there he will be instructed to (double) tie, knot, fuse (whatever needs to be done) to prevent any more babies from coming out of my body!
I am very anxious about a c-section, but I really don't think I can deliver another 10 pounder, since she is insisting on being breech.
With all of those issues, my blood pressure is good, her heartbeat is strong and we are both healthy. I am still nauseous every day and am taking meds for it. I am very, very uncomfortable. I have A LOT of pressure on my pelvic floor. My legs have bulging veins that are really gross. They may (or may not) go away after I deliver. I really can't sleep at night, so I am totally exhausted (and pretty crabby) most days. This pregnancy has been so difficult from the beginning. I keep waiting for that 'I am feeling great and pregnant" feeling, but I don't think that it is coming.
I know that as soon as I see her little face and hold her in my arms everything that I have gone through will seem worth it and I won't mind, I will just be glad that it is over! I just can't wait to get there! Here a a 4D picture that the tech took on Wednesday. It is like a little window into my belly. You can see her eyes and nose. I think she looks like Nicholas. And just in case you are wondering, no we don't have a name yet!

Hair cutting isn't my speciality!
That being said I think I did a pretty good job. Nicholas went to an actual salon ONCE. He screamed bloody murder and she hardly got anything cut. So I figure that I can do it. A little trim here and snip there. I think (and Matt agrees, what at least he says he does) that it looks good. Notice the big red spot on his cheek. No I didn't cut him, he got bit by something and it is look much better now. The lines would look a little better if he would let me use the "Peanut" razor I bought for him, but again the bloody murder screaming. So he looks great to me!

Closet and everything else
If I am going to make September
If I am going to make a post for September I need to hurry it up, right? We have been busy with Mimi and Poppie the last few weeks. Nicholas and I made our last airplane trip up to MI in late August. (Poppie I am still waiting on pictures from you) Nicholas had SO MUCH FUN. He loved to go to Poppie's pole barn and 'open the big door" and just hang out with Poppie. I am not sure what they did, but they could be out there for hours. They also worked in Poppie's garden. Picking tomatoes, squash and zucchini. My parents got him these little mud boots painted with the Hungary Caterpillar character. They looked really cute and he like to wear them.
We came back to FL for a week and got settled in just in time for Mimi and Poppie to come down and hang out while daddy went on a really long (far) business trip. On the day that my parents arrived I was making my bed an Nicholas was playing in my closet. He come out. I ask what he is doing in there and he says, "Secret Mama!" In his very matter-of-fact 2 year old voice. I reply, "It's a secret...There's a secret in Mama's closet?"
"Yes, Mama secret." Well, okay baby.
"Mama, rocket in closet, Annie too!" WHAT!!!
"Nicholas is anyone else in there?"
"Yes, Leo, Kincey, and Un."
"Well what are they doing in there?"
"Hiding." Of course!
Well that new hideout became a BIG part of Nichoals' AND Poppie's day. They spent a lot of time playing the the two closets. (Matt's closet and my closet face each other in a little hallway to the master bathroom.) He tried to get Mimi in there but when he realized that she can't sit crossed-legged, he booted her out! My dad asked me if this started before Matt left and I told him it was new.....to which he replied, "Won't he have fun when he comes back and gets to spend time in his closet!"
It just seems like Nicholas is developing such a cute personality. Everything is an adventure and he is just so excited about anything. Especially Baby Beeka. No we still don't have an 'official' name and I am not sure we will before she arrives. Nicholas is so sweet and loves to kiss my belly. At least once a day he comes up to me with his Dr kit and wants to 'listen' to my belly with his stethoscope. I ask if she is okay and he always says,"Yes." I ask what she is doing in there and get a variety of answers like sleeping, playing toys, or hiding. He then takes my blood pressure and he is done. I am so lucky to have such great prenatal care! He usually goes with my to my OB apts and that is all they do...except for the weight and I am glad he doesn't want to check that daily! Here are a few pictures.......Hopefully October will be easier for me to blog!

Puzzled?
Where's all the pictures with Grandmum?
Maybe I just can't find them or maybe Daddy took about 50 of the birthday cake candle blowout, and didn't thin to get Nicholas and Grandmum together. Here they are watching Baby Signing Time, STILL his favorite DVDV....as Nicholas calls them. I really don't know what we would do with them. And yes those are fritos on the couch, one of the main staples of his VERY limited diet. We are actually going to the allergy Doc today. Grandmum if you have pictures from your visit please send them and I will add them to this post!

Baby Beeka

In case you haven't heard we are having a girl. Here are the pictures taken at my last apt. Mom and baby are doing well. She is on track for the Nov due date. We are so very excited, and also a little shocked. I really thought it was a boy, I think Matt did too. Nicholas is still calling her baby Beeka. I think we have have decided on Natalie Rebecca, at least for now. Enjoy the pictures!
